Role Summary: The Senior Civil Engineering Project Leader is accountable for ensuring the excellence of project deliverables, client satisfaction, effective staff utilization, contract oversight, billing processes, and overall project profitability. This position leverages technical acumen and project management skills to lead project teams, mentor technical personnel, and represent the firm to clients. A background in public infrastructure design is highly advantageous due to our focus on public sector projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guarantee the quality, timeline, and profitability of assigned projects.
  • Support the Branch Office Manager in executing the Business Development strategy and objectives.
  • Foster positive relationships with existing clients and identify potential future projects.
  • Assist in proposal development, uncover new business prospects, and advocate for SPI's services to current and prospective clients.
  • Provide daily guidance to technical staff and ensure compliance with contract stipulations.
  • Act as the Project Engineer on selected assignments.
  • Engage in proposal creation, contract discussions, and drafting of service agreements.
  • Oversee engineering contracts and modifications to ensure compliance with internal protocols.
  • Maintain open communication with clients and be accessible to both clients and office personnel.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas.
  • Preferred: Experience in public infrastructure design.
  • Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge and experience as a Project Engineer.
  • Proven ability to define project scopes, develop tasks, coordinate efforts, and deliver projects within budget and on schedule.
  • Experience in coordinating the technical efforts of team members.
  • Demonstrated project management success from initiation to completion of significant projects.
  • Proven track record of completing projects on time and within financial constraints.
