**Job Summary**

The City of Lowell is seeking a highly motivated and community-focused individual to serve as a member of the Citizens Advisory Committee to the Lowell Police Department. This esteemed committee plays a vital role in enhancing relations between the community and the Department, providing a platform for public input on decisions and practices related to public safety in the City.

**Key Responsibilities**
  • Attend monthly meetings at a designated civic center to engage with community members and Police Department representatives.
  • Assist in community outreach efforts to foster stronger relationships between the Police Department and the community.
  • Promote public awareness of the City's police services, activities, programs, and public safety issues through various channels.
  • Solicit public input regarding police services, programs, and issues of public safety to ensure the community's voice is heard.
  • Provide community feedback and recommendations on police programs and activities to inform decision-making.
  • Review and make recommendations concerning other matters referred to the Committee by the Chief of Police, City Manager, or City Council.
**Requirements**

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse community members and Police Department representatives. A strong understanding of community safety issues and a commitment to public service are essential.
