Job Summary

KIDS, a 501(c)(3) organization, is seeking two or more members to join its Board of Directors. As a Board member, you will play a crucial role in furthering the organization's mission to improve the quality of life for children and adults with disabilities through sports, social, recreational, and therapeutic programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Board in carrying out its fiduciary responsibilities, including reviewing financial statements.
  • Exercise reasonable care when making decisions as a steward of the organization.
  • Use information obtained as a member solely to further the organization's purposes and not for personal gain.
  • Act in the best interests of the organization and in a way that is consistent with its central goals.

Individual Responsibilities

  • Regularly attend and prepare for Board and committee meetings.
  • Volunteer for and take responsibility for and follow through on given assignments and functions.
  • Fully understand the organization's mission, services, policies, and programs.
  • Serve on committees or task forces and be ready and willing to take on special assignments.
