The DoubleTree Hotel-Burlington, VT is seeking a skilled Sales and Business Development Manager to join its team. This role plays a pivotal part in introducing the hotel to new clients, working with existing customers, soliciting new accounts, and contributing to the hotel's overall success.

The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving individual booking revenue goals, prospecting for new business through various methods including outside sales calls, networking, and cold-calling. They will also qualify and uncover new group opportunities to maximize revenue in both rooms and function space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for individual booking revenue goals to support total hotel budget
  • Prospect for new business through outside sales calls, solicitation, networking, and cold-calling
  • Qualify and uncover new Group opportunities to maximize revenue in both rooms and function space
  • Respond to inquiries, walk-ins, and inbound sales calls in a timely manner
  • Prepare Property Sales Proposals, Contracts, Group Resumes, BEOs, Reservation Links, and communications
  • Maximize outcome of all sales initiatives by following up on leads, following up with existing clients to identify additional business opportunities, and managing accounts
  • Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures, sales policies, and procedures
  • Maintain a complete database of accounts, bookings, and sales activities in Delphi
  • Conduct outside sales calls with key local target accounts
  • Local Community Event participation
  • Monitor and communicate Comp set Intel
  • Participate in Revenue Strategy Meeting as needed for business review and group rooms management
  • Submit required weekly/monthly reports accurately and timely
  • Perform other tasks as needed or directed to ensure effective hotel operations
  • Contribute and work as a "team" member in all facets of the position

Requirements:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in hotel sales in an upscale environment
  • Demonstrated skills in prospecting new business
  • Successful track record of achieving sales call and booking goals

Preferred Skills:

  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
  • Delphi and ONQ experience a plus
  • Must be proficient in MS, Excel, and Teams
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret hotel-specific reports

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits include health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, paid time off, and 401(k) matching.
