Work Environment

Our primary office is located in Sydney, with an additional site in Melbourne. However, we offer flexibility in your work arrangements. Whether you prefer to work from the office, remotely, or a combination of both, the choice is yours.

Key Responsibilities

As our organization continues to grow, adaptability remains essential. This leadership role will initially involve managing a small team of seasoned content strategists while maintaining a hands-on approach (approximately 50-70% of your time). The responsibilities may evolve as the team expands.

Currently, your focus will include:
  • Team Leadership: You will mentor Content Strategists, enhancing their skills through constructive feedback and support. Your role will be pivotal in amplifying the specialty's influence within the Design Experience.
  • Strategic Vision: You will articulate the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Content Design to your design team and senior stakeholders, simplifying complex concepts through effective communication.
  • Content Development: Utilizing your writing expertise, understanding of User Experience principles, and knowledge of front-end development, you will create product copy that facilitates seamless collaboration for users. Collaborating with the Content Design team, you will address common challenges to strengthen our specialty.
  • Performance Metrics: You will contribute to the design and development of the company's website and applications from a content-first perspective, ensuring that your content design choices positively impact key performance indicators.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will unite designers, project managers, engineers, and researchers to devise optimal solutions for users and address web-related challenges through effective language.
Goals to Achieve:
  • Establish relationships within your product domains, enhancing your understanding of the various user experiences.
  • Engage in project planning, allocating resources to initiatives that align with company priorities.
  • Evaluate different creation experiences (videos, presentations, documents, websites, etc.) to identify opportunities for consistent scalability.
  • Assist in the development of new products that require clarity from a Content Designer's perspective.
  • Develop a framework of patterns for editor experiences that empower Product Designers to make informed decisions swiftly, allowing Content Designers to focus on more complex and impactful tasks.
  • Ensure consistent quality for AI experiences, emphasizing trust and user satisfaction.
  • Continue to foster relationships with stakeholders across the organization to align with initiatives that affect the core editing experience.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • You are an accomplished Content Design Leader with a proven history of addressing intricate challenges, preferably in the tech or SaaS sector, with at least 5 years of experience in content design or UX writing.
  • You have previously contributed to the maturation of a Content Design practice.
  • You have experience in conducting Content Design research and can advocate for best practices in messaging studies and experiments.
  • Your exceptional UX writing skills and impressive content design portfolio reflect your commitment to brand voice, consistency, and style.
  • You thrive in independent work settings but also enjoy collaborating with diverse teams to share the value of content design.
  • You possess a strong balance between strategic thinking and attention to detail.
  • You embrace complex challenges and excel in problem-solving.
  • You are skilled at gaining buy-in from key stakeholders, effectively guiding them through changes and their rationale.
