We are currently seeking a dedicated overnight Logistics Operations Supervisor for our Supply Chain Solutions division. Join our team to explore the opportunities and benefits of being part of Ryder's Ever Better Team.

  • Pay Type: Exempt / Salary paid Twice Per Month
  • Annual Salary Pay: $65,000 - $70,000 per year based on experience
  • Schedule: Sunday through Thursday 10:30 pm - 7:30 am. Our delivery schedule is determined by client needs, which may include a 6-day work week during peak seasons. Additional hours and days may be required to meet business demands.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Manager, the Logistics Operations Supervisor is tasked with overseeing and coordinating logistics operations while providing guidance, training, and development to a team of drivers (30 in total). The ideal candidate will be proactive in suggesting enhancements to operational processes, equipment, and overall facility efficiency. They will ensure that team performance aligns with established standards and contribute to achieving business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the activities of drivers to optimize productivity and ensure timely, safe deliveries to our valued customers.
  • Exhibit the managerial courage to make informed operational decisions that impact the business.
  • Oversee customer delivery commitments, including managing driver time-off requests, equipment maintenance, and addressing traffic delays.
  • Encourage and support driver performance and satisfaction by monitoring wait times, addressing grievances, and determining appropriate compensation when necessary.
  • Ensure timely payroll processing for drivers through effective communication with the payroll department.
  • Manage accurate billing for all trips as required.
  • Review daily checklists to ensure compliance with company performance goals (KPIs) and verify all essential tasks are completed.
  • Maintain driver files and ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Build rapport with drivers, providing coaching and motivation based on performance metrics.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

  • High School diploma/GED required
  • One (1) year or more experience in a transportation, warehouse, or distribution environment preferred
  • 0 to One (1) year of direct supervisory or leadership experience required
