Job Overview

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Systems Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting pharmacy personnel and the automation of dispensing operations. This position is tasked with the development and coordination of Medvantx applications while ensuring the maintenance of pharmacy information systems in collaboration with the IT department. The administrator will serve as the primary point of contact for pharmacy-related technical support and is responsible for the operational integrity of all enterprise pharmacy applications, ensuring they are compatible with corporate infrastructure and functioning optimally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain Pharmacy applications, including the testing and deployment of updates, software modifications, and new version rollouts.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of Pharmacy Systems applications and lead troubleshooting initiatives to support their ongoing operations.
  • Manage the upgrade processes for existing enterprise applications and communicate system status updates to leadership as necessary.
  • Identify, assess, implement, and provide support for Pharmacy Systems applications.
  • Lead projects related to Pharmacy Systems applications of varying complexity.
  • Maintain an inventory of enterprise applications, including version control and licensing management.
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert on Pharmacy Systems applications projects, including multi-site geographic order routing and EDI integrations.
  • Perform additional duties as required by business needs.

Essential Skills

  • Expertise in core Pharmacy Systems operating on Windows platforms.
  • Understanding of Software as a Service (SaaS) and Client/Server software architecture.
  • Ability to manage and document projects and application implementations effectively.
  • Familiarity with System Validation and test case development.
  • Capacity to acquire application-specific knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and customer service capabilities.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer information systems or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT application development, analysis, and support.

Physical Requirements

  • The physical demands of this role align with general office tasks: sitting, using a computer, keyboard, telephone, etc.
  • This position is remote with a travel expectation of 10% (required or optional).
