Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in assisting healthcare professionals and patients with various pharmacy-related tasks. This position involves data entry, managing phone communications, and ensuring accurate prescription processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy regulations and accurately input prescription data.
- Support quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy.
- Calculate medication dosages based on prescriptions and established guidelines.
- Input prescription details into the pharmacy dispensing system for pharmacist verification.
- Document prescription clarifications as directed by the pharmacist.
- Assist patients and healthcare providers by managing incoming calls and directing inquiries appropriately.
- Understand and adhere to specific program guidelines.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician with registration in Kentucky.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interpret and follow instructions.
- Flexibility to manage shifting priorities and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Certification from the Kentucky PTCB.
Preferred:
- Experience in pharmacy data entry.
- Basic algebra proficiency.
- Experience in client-facing roles over the phone.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required.
