Position Title: Front Desk Receptionist for Therapy Department

Reporting To: Site Manager

This role is integral to ensuring a positive experience for patients at our facility.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The individual in this position plays a crucial role in facilitating smooth interactions for patients within the office environment. Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential. This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week, offering competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package. Shifts may vary between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM based on departmental needs and patient traffic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage patient referrals upon arrival.
  • Conduct patient check-in and check-out procedures for designated office areas.
  • Coordinate follow-up appointments across various UOI locations.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments for external referrals.
  • Register walk-in patients, update demographic information accurately, and secure necessary signatures.
  • Collect co-payments and manage patient account balances.
  • Handle incoming calls at the front desk and direct them appropriately.
  • Prepare schedules and superbills for upcoming provider appointments.
  • Perform end-of-shift batching and verify collected co-payments.
  • Sort and distribute mail/packages received at the front desk; manage incoming faxes and clinical inboxes.
  • Verify Durable Medical Equipment (DME) benefits.
  • Exhibit exemplary customer service behaviors.
  • Foster a culture of service excellence by surpassing the expectations of patients, visitors, colleagues, and healthcare providers.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and uphold a conducive work environment.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by management to support departmental objectives.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in medical reception or administrative roles preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding customer service abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office and EMR/practice management systems.
  • Familiarity with insurance eligibility and verification processes.
  • Self-motivated team player.
  • Willingness to travel to various sites as needed.
