Position Overview:

The role of Vice President of International Portfolio Management is pivotal within Prudential's Global Portfolio Management (GPM) team, which operates under the Chief Investment Office (CIO). This position is dedicated to managing and directing the investment strategies for Prudential's international insurance operations, ensuring alignment with asset and liability management best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investment Policy Development: Lead the coordination and oversight of investment policies across Prudential's international insurance sectors. Collaborate with local investment officers to establish and maintain best practices.
  • Portfolio Management Collaboration: Work closely with local investment teams to address portfolio management challenges, including asset/liability management and strategic asset allocation (SAA).
  • Analytical Support: Provide analytic and implementation support for new investment initiatives, including the assessment of new asset classes in line with Prudential's risk appetite.
  • Governance and Compliance: Ensure robust governance processes and effective communication regarding investment matters, aligning with Prudential's Operating Principles.
  • M&A Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence for all investment-related aspects of mergers and acquisitions.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Engage with various stakeholders, including Finance, Actuarial, and Risk Management, to enhance portfolio analytics and reporting capabilities.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess 10-12 years of relevant experience in asset liability management and portfolio oversight, with a proven track record in managing substantial insurance investment portfolios.

  • Extensive investment knowledge, particularly within Latin American markets.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets and liability structures.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing investment teams.
  • Advanced analytical skills and a deep comprehension of fixed income, foreign exchange, and derivatives markets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese.
  • Possession of a CFA and an MBA/MS in Finance is advantageous.
