Position Overview:
The Product Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining design control for cable products, overseeing engineering administrative processes, and managing data systems that support the manufacturing of fiber optic cables.

Key Responsibilities:

Optimize engineering processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy, oversee product engineering systems to ensure timely production and customer service, manage specifications, and execute engineering changes promptly.

This role is essential for meeting customer expectations and prioritizing customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will be adaptable, collaborative across various departments, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering error-free work.

This position is part of the Product Engineering department and reports to the Product Engineering Manager.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
Additional education in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 1 year of experience with SQL data management and/or development
At least 3 years of advanced computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access; experience with Oracle or other ERP systems is a plus
Preferred experience in developing with VBA in Access
Strong interpersonal, influencing, and teamwork skills
Effective verbal and written communication abilities
Strong time management and organizational skills
Experience with engineered products is preferred
Background in the fiber optic industry, particularly in cable processing and applications, is advantageous.

Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and management of all product engineering systems and databases.
Formulate strategies for data acquisition, archive recovery, and database implementation.
Collaborate directly with internal customers to address application issues and inquiries.
Generate reports and query relevant data to support internal customer requests.

Automate manual data processes, enhance user queries, and facilitate data research and understanding while partnering with analysts and business specialists.

Engage in the development of new ETL processes and back-end integrations to ensure accessibility of new and existing data sources for other business systems, applications, and external partners using SQL Server and SSIS.

Lead product engineering initiatives aimed at improving efficiencies, reducing errors, and enhancing processes.
Support product line management strategies, including commercial documentation and initiatives.
Oversee all product engineering processes and systems, including cable design data/database management for design control, item setup within ERP systems, customer specification revision control, and regulatory compliance data management.

Facilitate the execution of engineering changes.
Manage and prioritize customer complaints and corrective actions to ensure efficient task completion.
