Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Coordinator to join our Conductor Accessories team. This role is pivotal in managing the planning, scheduling, procurement, and expediting of raw materials and finished products to support our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will employ best procurement practices, focusing on supplier management to achieve optimal pricing while fulfilling departmental objectives related to cost reduction, quality enhancement, timely delivery, inventory oversight, and lead time minimization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the entire procurement process, including requisition creation and ensuring timely delivery of necessary materials through ordering, expediting, and returns.
  • Plan material requirements for production and facility operations.
  • Analyze and adjust inventory levels to align with fluctuating customer demand and lead time variations.
  • Utilize Materials Requirements Planning Systems and other planning tools, or develop new tools as necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality and Manufacturing teams to address and rectify supplier non-conformance issues.
  • Engage with vendors regarding price negotiations, material availability, delivery timelines, and supplier visits.
  • Formulate and implement vendor supply agreements.
  • Ensure all purchase orders are accurately defined, entered, and updated in a timely manner.
  • Proactively forecast future raw material needs considering new product launches and upcoming product mix changes.
  • Continuously strive to enhance supplier delivery, quality, and service.
  • Promptly communicate and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, service, or pricing with vendors.
  • Research and establish relationships with potential new vendors to expand sourcing options for raw materials.
  • Manage MRO procurement.
  • Contribute to the Business Planning Cycle by providing annual volume, pricing, and trend forecasts.
  • Adhere to and promote AFL's environmental, health, and safety policies.

  • International purchasing experience is a plus.
  • Experience in production scheduling is desirable.
  • Intermediate or advanced proficiency in MS Office.
