Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


• Lead the installation and configuration of specialized audio, visual, and live streaming equipment, including sound mixers, monitors, and podium systems.


• Diagnose and resolve issues with audio and visual equipment, ensuring all systems are fully operational.


• Utilize creative problem-solving skills to address challenges that arise during events, often with limited resources.


• Organize and manage timelines for setting up rooms and event spaces.


• Evaluate conference rooms and event locations to determine necessary equipment and prepare the space accordingly.


• Ensure that all facilities are ready for use, including unlocking doors, turning on lights, and adjusting window coverings.


• Remove unnecessary equipment and furniture to maintain a clean and organized environment.


• Set up essential equipment and furniture as per requests.


• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of meeting areas, including vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal.


• Manage Statehouse events with efficiency and awareness of surroundings.


• Ensure all event spaces are tidy by disposing of trash and cleaning up after catering services.


• Reset event spaces as needed, particularly during busy legislative sessions.


• Follow written and verbal instructions while adhering to established practices in performing duties.


• Take on leadership responsibilities in the absence of direct supervision.


• Clean carpets as required using commercial-grade equipment.

Job Requirements:


• Practical knowledge of audio, video, and sound equipment, along with cleaning equipment used for events.


• Ability to perform physical tasks that involve standing, walking, lifting, bending, and twisting.


• Capability to follow detailed instructions and work independently with minimal oversight.


• Excellent customer service skills, as interactions with visitors are common.


• Familiarity with the equipment and furniture used in event settings for setup and breakdown.


• Ability to interpret reservation forms and understand setup requirements for events.


• Proficiency in troubleshooting equipment failures quickly.


• Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies, including daily counts and tracking.


• Understanding of sound systems, mixers, microphones, and cabling, with the ability to connect monitors to sound systems.


• Effective communication and collaboration with colleagues and other agencies for setup and equipment needs.


• Availability to work weekends on an event basis, often with short notice.


• Serve as the primary contact during weekend events.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not directly supervise State employees but is responsible for guiding and assisting interns on assigned projects.

Work Complexity: Duties can vary and may be complex, requiring the ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively. Flexibility is essential as tasks and deadlines may change frequently.

Physical Requirements: The role involves constant lifting and walking throughout the event spaces, handling moderate-weight furniture and equipment, and performing tasks in a non-sitting position.

Working Conditions: The work environment is primarily indoors with controlled climate conditions, with occasional outdoor tasks. Safety and comfort are maintained at appropriate levels.

This position requires weekend availability.
