Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the installation and operation of specialized sound, audio, and visual equipment, including sound mixers, monitors, and streaming tools.

• Diagnose and resolve issues with audio and visual equipment, ensuring optimal performance for all events.

• Utilize innovative problem-solving skills to address challenges with limited resources.

• Develop and manage timelines for setting up rooms and coordinating activities.

• Evaluate event spaces to determine equipment needs and prepare the environment accordingly.

• Ensure that all venues are ready for use, including unlocking doors, adjusting lighting, and managing window treatments.

• Remove unnecessary equipment and furniture to maintain a clutter-free environment.

• Set up essential equipment and furnishings as per event requirements.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in meeting areas, including vacuuming, dusting, and waste disposal.

• Handle Statehouse events with professionalism and awareness of surroundings.

• Ensure event spaces are tidy post-event, including disposal of waste and cleaning up catering remnants.

• Reset event spaces promptly, especially during busy legislative sessions.

• Follow detailed written and verbal instructions while adhering to established protocols.

• Lead and guide team members in the absence of direct supervision.

• Perform scheduled carpet cleaning using commercial-grade equipment.

Qualifications:

• Proficient knowledge of audio, video, and sound equipment, along with cleaning tools for event maintenance.

• Ability to perform physical tasks involving standing, walking, lifting, and bending.

• Capable of following detailed instructions and working independently with minimal oversight.

• Exceptional customer service skills to assist visitors and clients effectively.

• Familiarity with equipment and furniture used in event settings for setup and breakdown.

• Ability to interpret reservation forms and setup instructions accurately.

• Quick troubleshooting skills for equipment malfunctions.

• Assist in inventory management, including tracking and counting supplies.

• Understanding of sound systems, including mixers and cabling, with the ability to integrate monitors into setups.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues and external agencies.

• Flexibility to work weekends with short notice, based on event schedules.

• Act as the primary contact during weekend events.

Supervisory Duties: This role does not directly supervise State employees but involves mentoring and guiding interns on specific projects.

Work Complexity: Responsibilities may vary and can be complex, requiring adaptability to changing tasks and priorities.

Physical Demands: The role involves significant physical activity, including lifting and moving equipment and furniture.

Work Environment: Primarily indoors with controlled climate conditions, occasional outdoor tasks may occur. Safety and comfort are prioritized.

This position includes weekend work as part of the regular schedule.
