How will you contribute?


The Lead Engineer will be tasked with developing the next generation of Energy Storage products for locomotive and mining applications.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in electromechanical systems and/or battery packaging. This engineer will collaborate with other subsystems and systems, establish requirements, and provide system-level packaging solutions and safety strategies.

This Engineer will also work alongside customer-facing and sourcing teams to formulate a roadmap for future battery technologies, services, and reliability support strategies.

What do we seek from you?

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

- A minimum of 10 years of hands-on design experience.

- Proficiency in interpreting and applying standards and regulations.

What will your daily responsibilities entail?

- Lead design and development initiatives for current products, including battery packs and thermal management systems.

- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert, providing technical leadership to the team and mentoring junior members.

- Drive project initiatives across a matrixed organization, communicating progress cross-functionally and to all organizational levels, including C-suite.

- Develop long-term strategic relationships with suppliers and industry groups.

- Collaborate with product development and leadership teams to formulate strategic plans for Energy Storage.

- Partner with service and reliability teams to devise customer support strategies and develop cost-effective reliability solutions.

- Identify opportunities for cost savings.

- Conduct detailed design analyses (FEA, Thermal Models, Bolted Joints, Tolerance stack-ups, Design reviews).


You may also be required to undertake additional duties outside of your primary function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
