Your Role in Our Team
As a member of our Global Engineering Operations team, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting the Wabtec Engineering ecosystem. Your focus will be on operational best practices, enhancements, and tools that yield best-in-class engineered deliverables and products, emphasizing safety, quality, delivery, cost, and talent.

Key Responsibilities
The Lead Engineering Project Specialist will take charge of engineering operations projects of medium to high complexity, overseeing them from proposal to completion. Your mission will be to enhance the effectiveness of the Freight Equipment and Services, Transit, and Digital Intelligence engineering teams by:

  • Collaborating with engineering teams to devise innovative engineering solutions.
  • Working cross-functionally with manufacturing, IT, sourcing, and services to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions.
  • Acting as both a leader and an individual contributor within project teams, ensuring clarity in roles and responsibilities.
  • Providing technical expertise to facilitate the integration of engineering developments into manufacturing and service environments.

Qualifications
We seek candidates who possess:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 8-10 years of experience in engineering development and/or operations.
  • 3-5 years of project engineering or management experience.
  • Proven ability to lead projects from inception to completion.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering design and simulation tools.
  • Experience in integrating engineering solutions into manufacturing and service processes.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Power BI, SharePoint).

Your Daily Impact
In this role, you will:
  • Lead and provide technical guidance to cross-functional team members involved in engineering operations projects.
  • Assist team members in developing and integrating solutions as necessary.
  • Offer subject matter expertise in electrical engineering to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Coordinate and manage integration plans for assigned projects.
  • Deliver structured updates on project status, including scope, schedule, budget, risks, and challenges.
  • Participate in and support cross-functional development and review meetings.
  • Document action items from project review meetings and prioritize their completion.
  • Support the project team in fulfilling necessary tasks to maintain project timelines, budgets, and scopes.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required.

This position may also involve tasks outside your primary function, with appropriate training provided as needed.
