Job Overview

As an Embedded Systems Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the excellence of our software products. Your primary responsibility will be to uphold rigorous standards of software quality through the implementation of effective testing methodologies and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Assurance: Uphold high standards of software quality by consistently applying effective testing practices.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the development team to gain insights into features and develop both manual and automated testing frameworks.
  • Communication: Provide timely updates regarding significant issues, risks, or overall release quality.
  • Integration Testing: Integrate and validate Platform Software, including Board Support Packages (BSP), Platform Services, and Middleware applications, ensuring seamless connectivity with Business Logic applications.
  • Robustness Assurance: Ensure that Platform Software meets configurability, performance, cybersecurity, and quality standards.
  • Requirements Review: Analyze and refine control system-level requirements to align design intent with Platform capabilities.
  • Testing Requirements Derivation: Extract Platform testing requirements from system specifications and allocate them to relevant software components.
  • Test Plan Development: Create, review, and execute comprehensive test plans for hardware/software and software/software integration testing.
  • Troubleshooting: Lead and engage in troubleshooting efforts to identify root causes of failures and defects across various testing environments.
  • Results Presentation: Prepare and present testing outcomes to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Documentation: Ensure thorough documentation of technical data generated during assigned projects, adhering to engineering policies and procedures.
  • Validation Support: Assist in development and verification through the execution of validation test cases across diverse testing environments.
  • Intellectual Property: Prepare disclosures for inventions to safeguard technologies that provide a competitive edge.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in software engineering.
  • Proven experience in testing and debugging embedded software systems.
  • Experience in contributing to the testing of new embedded software solutions.
  • Familiarity with hardware/software integration, Docker, and scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices throughout the software testing lifecycle, including requirements management, build processes, defect tracking, and operations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage trade-offs effectively to achieve overall objectives.
  • Willingness to engage in hands-on validation in simulation laboratories and on vehicles.
  • Flexibility to travel as necessary.
