Role Overview: The Production Engineering Specialist will provide essential technical assistance to manufacturing processes by innovating machining and assembly techniques that ensure the most economical production methods and materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate customer geometric dimensioning and tolerancing specifications to the production team, engineering department, and external partners through operational drawings and guidelines.
  • Design and specify castings that align with customer and operational needs.
  • Oversee projects and resource allocation to achieve defined goals, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and timelines while fulfilling customer quality standards.
  • Lead cross-functional manufacturing teams to foster and implement process enhancements aimed at achieving cost reduction targets.
  • Assess labor and material costs for components or assemblies based on customer specifications and drawings.
  • Offer technical direction and insights to other departments regarding vendor management, cost efficiency, or design enhancements.
  • Develop precise and effective programs for all CNC machinery (including multi-axis, lathes, and mills with live tooling) utilizing CAM software or manual programming.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in production machining.
  • Eight years of progressive experience in advanced manufacturing engineering may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
  • Proficiency in contemporary software applications related to inventory, manufacturing, engineering, and financial data.
  • Able to function effectively in a professional office environment.
  • Occasional stair climbing may be necessary.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
  • Capable of operating office equipment, including computers, printers, and copiers, which entails all physical capabilities required for data entry.
  • Competent in understanding and executing detailed process instructions reliably.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Adept at comprehending complex systems information to troubleshoot issues and implement enhancements.
  • Ability to interpret intricate engineering CAD models and drawings.

This position entails minimal travel. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM with a one-hour lunch break. Overtime and weekend work may be necessary.
