Job Description

GeoEngineers, Inc. is seeking a skilled Payroll Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing bi-weekly multi-state payroll and assisting in maintaining an integrated and centralized multi-state payroll system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviews, approves, and posts employee timesheets weekly, ensuring accuracy and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Runs reports to ensure time off taken has not exceeded employee balances, maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Coordinates with Human Resources to compile payroll data, including employee changes, new hires, and payroll deductions.
  • Validates payroll files/reports through reconciliation and review, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Handles general inquiries regarding payroll and deductions, providing excellent customer service.
  • Calculates net salaries, deductions, withholdings, bonus payments, and vacation payouts, verifying state and federal leave status.
  • Imports timesheet information into payroll system and verifies system totals, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Completes bi-weekly/monthly payroll report requirements, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Assists with general employee questions regarding payroll and deductions, providing timely and accurate responses.
  • Reconciles payroll-related general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Assists with annual review and FAR audit payroll compliance, maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a large ERP environment, preferably in the Architecture & Engineering industry.
  • Experience in Paylocity payroll system, with advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, including Outlook and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with a high level of customer service, interpersonal skills, and professionalism.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and technical skills, with attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Team player who meets commitments and deadlines, with excellent professional integrity and accountability skills.

Work Environment:

Normal office environment with moderate noise levels, occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs., prolonged sitting and regular walking, bending, standing, and reaching.

Ability to perform consistent work on a PC with prolonged view of a monitor/screen, with occasional travel as needed.
