A well-established family-run real estate company is in search of a highly skilled Senior Accountant to enhance their financial team. This role will collaborate closely with the Controller and upper management to oversee comprehensive accounting operations, including general ledger management, payroll processing, cash flow oversight, financial reporting, and accounts payable across various entities. Furthermore, the position will extend accounting support for real estate development and job costing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the monthly financial closing activities.
  • Supervise development accounting, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of project expenditures, budgets, and discrepancies.
  • Manage job cost accounting, guaranteeing precise allocation and classification of project-related expenses.
  • Administer payroll preparation and processing, including reconciliations and reporting.
  • Oversee cash flow management, including projections and reconciliation tasks.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable.
  • Assist in the preparation of income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Support financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategic decision-making processes.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal policies in all financial transactions.
  • Aid in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Provide assistance during audit processes.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred.
  • At least 4 years of accounting experience; public accounting or CPA credentials are advantageous.
  • Proficient in Excel, particularly in data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with Accumatica or construction accounting software is highly desirable.
  • Strong grasp of accounting principles, including month-end closing, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll, and job cost accounting.
  • Knowledge of development accounting, especially within the real estate or construction sectors, is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • High level of discretion, confidentiality, and attention to detail, particularly regarding sensitive information.
