Position: Senior Accountant

Location: Redmond, WA (Hybrid)

Salary: $105,000 / year (DOE)

A well-established family-owned real estate firm is in search of a highly skilled Senior Accountant to enhance their financial operations. This role involves close collaboration with the Controller and upper management to oversee comprehensive accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, payroll processing, cash management, financial reporting, and accounts payable across various entities. Furthermore, the position will provide essential accounting support for real estate development and job costing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the monthly financial closing process.
  • Supervise development accounting, including monitoring and reporting on project expenditures, budgets, and discrepancies.
  • Manage job cost accounting, ensuring precise allocation and classification of project-related expenses.
  • Facilitate payroll preparation and processing, including reconciliations and reporting duties.
  • Oversee cash flow management, forecasting, and reconciliation activities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable.
  • Assist in the preparation of income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Support financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategic decision-making processes.
  • Guarantee compliance with GAAP and internal policies in all financial dealings.
  • Aid in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Provide assistance during audits.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred.
  • At least 4 years of accounting experience; public accounting or CPA credentials are advantageous.
  • Proficient in Excel, particularly in data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with Accumatica or construction accounting software is highly desirable.
  • Strong grasp of accounting principles, including month-end closing, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll, and job cost accounting.
  • Knowledge of development accounting, especially within the real estate or construction sectors, is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • High level of discretion, confidentiality, and attention to detail, particularly with sensitive information.
