About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Liaison to join our team at Amgen. As a Patient Access Liaison, you will play a critical role in providing logistical, non-medical educational assistance to patients and caregivers, as well as office and site of care staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Listen to patients, interpreting their specific needs and providing friendly, professional, and well-informed answers to their non-medical, logistical questions.
  • Develop Relationships with Patients and Caregivers: Engage with patients and caregivers via phone, text, email, virtual, or in-person connections to develop strong relationships and provide education and resources.
  • Assess Individual Needs and Develop Education Plans: Assess individual patient needs and develop education and resource plans to empower patients to become their own advocates.
  • Provide Access and Reimbursement Education: Educate patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers on access and reimbursement options for Amgen rare disease therapies.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with Amgen cross-functional teams, including Case Managers, Site of Care team, Market Access, and external vendors to ensure seamless patient access to therapy.
  • Adhere to Professional Standards and Compliance: Adhere to professional standards, compliance guidance, policies, and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Doctorate degree and 2 years of patient services, reimbursement, medical affairs, or account management experience, or Master's degree and 4 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience.
  • Scientific Background and Product Knowledge: Strong knowledge of rare disease therapies and ability to learn product and disease information.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Travel Requirements: Ability to conduct field travel and travel to company meetings, client sites, etc. (approximately 50% of the time).
