The Patient Access Representative plays a crucial role in the patient experience by managing the initial interactions, including appointment scheduling and verifying payment categories prior to patient consultations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate patient check-in processes.
- Maintain and update patient records within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system during each visit.
- Input new patient data into the system and ensure ongoing data accuracy.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling and manage walk-in patients and emergencies according to established protocols.
- Retrieve patient charts, monitor patient flow in the EHR, and transfer charts to Medical Assistants or designated staff.
- Ensure compliance with documentation standards for all patient charts.
- Complete filing of patient charts by the end of each workday.
- Handle incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel, including managing faxes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting is required.
- Proficiency with Epic software is essential.
- Bilingual candidates (Spanish) are highly valued.
Position Details:
- Flexible schedule; typically Monday to Friday between 9 AM and 6 PM.
- Compensation starts at $19 per hour, based on experience, plus benefits.
- Comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, dental, vision, and a 401k plan.
- Opportunity for temp-to-hire placement.
- Role is within an outpatient facility.
