The Patient Access Representative plays a crucial role in the patient experience by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and conducting preliminary assessments of payment options.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients upon arrival.
- Update patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system during each visit.
- Input new patient data into the system and maintain existing records.
- Ensure accurate appointment scheduling and manage walk-in patients according to established protocols.
- Retrieve patient charts, monitor patient flow in the EHR, and provide necessary documentation to Medical Assistants or relevant staff.
- Confirm that all patient charts meet documentation standards.
- Complete filing of patient charts by the end of each day.
- Handle incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel, including managing faxes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting is required.
- Proficiency in Epic software is essential.
- Bilingual candidates (Spanish) are encouraged to apply.
Position Details:
- Work schedule typically varies; generally Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM.
- Compensation is $19 per hour, based on experience, plus benefits.
- Comprehensive benefits package includes healthcare, dental, vision, and a 401k plan.
- This is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity.
- Position is within an outpatient facility.
