Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Liaison to join our team at Retina Consultants of Texas. As a Patient Liaison, you will play a critical role in ensuring exceptional patient satisfaction by providing top-notch support and assistance to patients with various needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to Patient Inquiries: Respond to technical questions from patients regarding treatment, symptoms, prescriptions, or any additional inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate Test Scheduling: Set up tests requested by physicians, obtain required pre-authorizations, and relay results to patients in a clear and concise manner.
  • Manage Prescription Refills: Send and refill prescriptions, both written and electronic, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Schedule Outgoing Referrals: Schedule outgoing referrals and send chart information as needed to ensure seamless communication between healthcare providers.
  • Request Medical Records: Request medical records from other physician offices and scan them into our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Assist with Clinic Operations: Assist with clinic operations as needed, including working as an ophthalmic technician to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  • Complete Patient Paperwork: Complete patient paperwork, including workers' compensation and FMLA documentation, and document work in the EHR system.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant certification preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a front or back office setting, preferably as an ophthalmic assistant or medical assistant.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, effective listening, clear communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with physicians, coworkers, and patients; ability to master multiple computer systems and medical terminology.
