Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Auditor to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a Program Auditor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the compliance of our facilities with applicable standards, laws, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct audits of our facilities' service delivery systems to determine compliance with applicable standards, laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform quality improvement activities to assist our facilities in achieving and maintaining compliance with ICF standards.
  • Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate program areas, including internal program audits and reviews, external audits and surveys, and preparation of detailed reports of findings with recommendations.
  • Develop and implement plans of correction, provide consultation and staff training, complete record audits, and prepare reports as required by the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC).
  • Conduct follow-up on recommendations from incident investigations as requested.
Requirements
  • Experience in a human services field.
  • Ability to perform complex audits related to programs and inspections in a residential service setting.
  • Skills in presenting program information in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of state and federal standards, laws, and regulations pertinent to our facilities, including ICF/IDD standards and the Texas Administrative Code (TAC), HHSC rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of the individual habilitation plan, including active treatment, interdisciplinary team process, health and safety issues, incident management processes, and ability to analyze information, identify problems in programming areas, and recommend corrective actions.
Working Conditions

The Program Auditor will work in a fast-paced environment, attending work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift, and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy. The Program Auditor may serve in an on-call status on a rotating schedule as required to meet operational needs of the facility.
