Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Match Engagement Coordinator is responsible for organizing and executing a variety of match-related activities aimed at enhancing recruitment efforts, fostering match relationships, and reinforcing the organizational connection with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement scheduled match events that focus on recruitment, relationship building, and organizational engagement.
  2. Oversee both structured and unstructured match activities, catering to individual and group settings, and ensuring a mix of small and large gatherings.
  3. Facilitate enriching experiences across various counties, collaborating with partner organizations to offer activities at minimal or no cost.
  4. Utilize monthly events to re-engage matches that may be facing challenges, in conjunction with match support personnel.
  5. Promote and manage match activities to encourage ongoing volunteer participation through personalized recognition and annual events.
  6. Develop a comprehensive Calendar of Events featuring at least four activities weekly, with two hosted at the Big Brothers Big Sisters campus.
  7. Administer the First Friends program, including participant management and volunteer coordination.
  8. Ensure that First Friends children are included in a minimum of 80% of events.
  9. Collaborate with the Development team to negotiate vendor contracts and secure in-kind donations.
  10. Engage with volunteer committees to plan and execute various match events.
  11. Effectively utilize software tools for documentation and communication with volunteers, parents, and children.
  12. Recruit and present to potential volunteers from corporations, schools, and community groups.
  13. Coordinate volunteer schedules for event assistance and transportation for participants.
  14. Support large-scale events as needed.
  15. Maintain a high standard of child safety and risk management in all job functions.
  16. Share insights with development and marketing teams regarding potential partnerships identified through volunteer and parent interactions.
  17. Complete and submit required reports to the Executive Director.
  18. Participate in team-building initiatives within the organization.
  19. Attend all mandatory staff and program meetings.
  20. Perform additional duties as assigned by agency management.
  21. Oversee the Start Something Big initiative.

Supervision:

This position reports to the Program Team Lead and includes regular performance reviews.

Compensation and Benefits:

The starting salary range is $15 - $20 per hour, based on qualifications and experience. Benefits include a 401k plan after 90 days of employment.

Qualifications:

  3. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with emotional maturity and good judgment.
  4. Meticulous attention to detail.
  5. Professional demeanor and a proactive, self-motivated attitude.
  6. Availability to work 10 to 25 hours per week with a flexible schedule, including weekday evenings and occasional weekends.
  7. Possession of a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
  8. Ability to present programs to various audiences.
  9. Dedication to upholding the organization's core values of safety, integrity, passion, customer service, excellence, ownership, and communication.

Education and Skills:

A bachelor's degree in early childhood education, social work, human services, nutrition, health sciences, exercise science, or a related field is preferred. Current students pursuing a relevant degree or those with equivalent experience are encouraged to apply. Relevant life experiences will also be considered for this role.
