Position Overview:
This role reports directly to the Senior Student Success Specialist and CSS Trainer. The position is designed to ensure high-quality customer service for all prospective and current students and their families concerning registration, financial assistance, loan distributions, veteran educational benefits, and payment policies.

Compensation:
The starting hourly wage is $18.75.

Work Schedule:
40 hours per week, year-round.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for students and their families regarding university policies related to registration and financial aid.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues as necessary.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of student tuition accounts to respond to questions from students and parents.
- Proactively follow up on issues, directing customers to the appropriate personnel when needed.
- Process registration and add/drop forms, addressing issues related to closed classes, major restrictions, course prerequisites, and scheduling conflicts.
- Offer guidance to students regarding available class sections.
- Handle cash, checks, and credit payments, ensuring accurate recording in the CASHNet cashiering and BANNER systems.
- Balance daily payment entries and maintain accurate financial records.
- Update the 'Clear to Attend' system indicator based on payment plan guidelines.
- Process refund requests and serve as the initial contact for the electronic refunding program.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff advisors to ensure proper registration for new students.

Training and Compliance:
- Assist in the orientation and training of new Center for Student Success staff and Federal Work Study students.
- Accurately process enrollment certifications for Veteran Affairs as a School Certified Official (SCO).
- Distribute and verify administrative forms and related paperwork to ensure completeness.
- Maintain and update student demographic information in the database.
- Act as a liaison with other university departments and external agencies as necessary.
- Represent the Registrar, Bursar, and Center for Student Success at various internal events.

Financial Aid Education:
- Educate students and their families about the financial aid programs available at the University of Hartford.
- Advise on the requirements and procedures to obtain and maintain financial aid eligibility.

Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about federal guidelines, including FERPA and Department of Education policies, ensuring strict adherence to academic and financial regulations.
- Analyze and resolve collection issues as appropriate.
- Verify pending loan disbursements and assist in facilitating agreements for the Collections Department.

Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate computer and paper files on student accounts to ensure data integrity and easy retrieval.

Additional Duties:
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Working Conditions:
- Typical office environment.

Education Requirements:
- An Associate's Degree or equivalent two-year university experience is required.

Physical Requirements:
- Primarily desk work with light lifting or carrying (25 lbs or less).

Special Skills:
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
