Daily Responsibilities of the Chief Revenue Officer

In the role of Chief Revenue Officer, your daily activities will center around strategically driving revenue enhancement and increasing market share within established accounts. This encompasses managing direct reports, monitoring key performance indicators, and formulating strategies to boost sales efficiency. You will engage with potential clients and existing customers to build relationships and effectively meet their needs. This position will likely oversee marketing functions, ensuring cohesive efforts between sales and marketing teams. The CRO will focus on acquiring significant national clients, refining the sales process from initial contact to business discovery, enhancing presentations to potential clients, optimizing closing rates, and increasing the average size of accounts. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of driving revenue growth at a national or large regional scale, with a strong background in generating new sales and expanding current accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement revenue growth strategies that align with organizational goals
  • Manage sales operations, forecasting, and pipeline oversight to meet revenue objectives
  • Lead initiatives aimed at increasing the market share of current enterprise-level and strategic accounts by 30%
  • Guide and mentor a skilled revenue team
  • Establish performance metrics, KPIs, and accountability frameworks to enhance productivity
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, operations, and executive leadership to ensure the effective execution of revenue strategies
  • Innovate sales processes and market positioning to maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications for Success

  • Bachelor's degree and MBA or equivalent experience required
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in sales and revenue management
  • Proven success in scaling revenue within a B2B context, preferably in facility management or similar sectors
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to convert strategies into actionable plans and measurable outcomes
  • Expertise in sales operations, CRM tools, and process optimization
  • Proactive, persistent, and innovative in problem-solving and driving initiatives
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
