Job Summary

The Power Generation Reliability Asset Management Engineer position at CPS Energy is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and economic operation of the generation, electric transmission, and distribution systems. This role involves engineering responsibilities to support maintenance and production departments with problem-solving and program/project execution to reduce downtime, improve processes, and lower operating costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Reliability Asset Management methods and predictive/preventive maintenance programs to optimize generation plant performance.
  • Monitor and balance energy flow, respond to system disturbances, and perform generation, distribution, and transmission activities to provide electric and gas services to customers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to lower-level engineers and other stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing education and training.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field from an ABET-accredited four-year college or university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification in the State of Texas.
  • Strong knowledge of power plant systems, Reliability Processes, and engineering principles.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in an engineering field.
  • Working knowledge of power plant systems and utilization of that knowledge to solve existing power plant problems.
  • Working knowledge of Reliability Processes.
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) Certification.
