Location: Erie, PA

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to oversee projects related to Locomotive System Design. This role involves collaboration with various customer departments and local suppliers to successfully deliver assigned projects. The ideal candidate will possess a robust engineering background along with demonstrable experience in managing diverse electrical and systems-oriented projects. Familiarity with GE Locomotives design is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and analyze root causes of failures in electrical components.
  • Ensure that engineering tasks across one or more projects are executed efficiently, meeting customer expectations, contractual specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Engage with engineering sub-system teams, drafting personnel, and global engineering locations.
  • Review and validate designs and 2-D schematics produced by design teams.
  • Address challenges that arise during the engineering development phase utilizing effective communication, models, and tools.
  • Support the innovative design and development of electro-mechanical components.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve critical project milestones, including design evaluations, material procurement, prototype construction, and testing phases.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects concurrently with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with GD&T, general manufacturing processes, tooling, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical design principles and control logic.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software (UG or Solid Works) is a plus.
  • Understanding of transformers, capacitors, bus bars, contactors, relays, and circuit breakers.
Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
