Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff and Labor Relations Specialist to join our team at the Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania. This is a critical role that requires a deep understanding of labor relations and staff management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive labor relations plan for the University.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of an effective staff relations program.
  • Act as the University's 3rd step hearing officer and assist in preparation for arbitration hearings.
  • Counsel managers and supervisors on proper discipline and procedures.
  • Provide guidance on University policies and procedures and federal, state, and local laws.
  • Advise management on restructuring/reorganization efforts.
  • Implement staff relations programs, including performance management, grievance procedures, and workplace issue resolution.
Requirements
  • BA/BS required, MA/MS in Human Resource Management or Labor Relations preferred.
  • Five to seven years of experience in Human Resources/Labor Relations.
  • Demonstrated experience in labor relations, including collective bargaining sessions.
  • Extensive knowledge of NLRA and other federal and state labor laws.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals.
