Position Overview

The National Institute for Children's Health Quality (NICHQ) is a dedicated nonprofit organization focused on enhancing the health outcomes of children through effective change strategies. Our mission is rooted in the belief that every child deserves equitable health systems and support.

Role Summary

The Senior Project Manager will oversee the daily operations and management of significant projects, ensuring that all components are executed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Project Director to manage the project team and deliverables, including operational workflows, contracts, invoicing, and budget management.
  • Clearly define roles and responsibilities within the project team.
  • Supervise and mentor Project Specialists and Project Managers.
  • Handle project-specific contracts with consultants and subcontractors as necessary.
  • Manage budget allocations and staffing for assigned projects.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of all reporting requirements.
  • Ensure integration with other NICHQ initiatives.
  • Assist in developing and implementing dissemination strategies.
  • Support the Project Director in maintaining accountability and achieving project objectives.
  • Facilitate relationships between NICHQ and funding partners.
  • Assist in managing faculty relationships.
  • Proactively address issues related to deadlines, client engagement, and team dynamics.
  • Contribute to cross-project learning and integration of organizational support functions.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Breakthrough Series model and manage the process with minimal guidance.
  • Exhibit a solid grasp of the Model for Improvement.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
  • Advanced skills in client management, proposal development, and budgeting.
  • Experience managing complex projects and relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey sensitive information tactfully.
  • Strong multitasking abilities, with a knack for prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficient in delegating tasks and assisting others in managing their workloads.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to optimize processes and resources effectively.
  • Collaborative team player who can generate solutions to emerging challenges.
  • Adaptable and flexible in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • 5-7 years of project management experience.
  • Master's degree preferred or relevant experience in Public Health or a related field.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and other office systems.
  • Experience in healthcare systems or quality improvement is highly desirable.
