Compliance Specialist

The Texas Juvenile Justice Department is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Monitoring and Inspections team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the compliance of juvenile justice facilities, programs, and services with Texas Administrative Code rules, state and federal laws, and contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough reviews and evaluations of juvenile justice facilities, programs, and services to determine compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement quality assurance and compliance activities, including desk reviews, surveys, on-site inspections, and operational and file reviews.
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to promote and enforce minimum administrative rules and contract requirements.
- Prepare detailed and comprehensive reports of findings and recommendations for improvement.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to juvenile justice practitioners and facilities on compliance and quality assurance best practices.
- Participate in special assignments and projects as assigned, including those involving support of the department's risk management functions.
- Bachelor's degree in public administration, criminal justice, social sciences, or a related field.
- Four years of full-time wage-earning experience in a residential setting, treatment or correctional program, or in auditing, conducting inspections of program operations, compliance monitoring, program evaluation, or quality assurance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex information effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and maintain a professional, courteous demeanor.
