Position Title: Financial Compliance Specialist

Role Summary: The Financial Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that the financial operations of the organization adhere to applicable regulations, standards, and internal guidelines. This position involves overseeing financial practices, performing audits, and offering insights to minimize risks and bolster compliance throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to relevant financial laws, regulations, and industry standards, including SOX, GAAP, and IFRS.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of both internal and external audits, which includes collecting documentation, reviewing financial records, and addressing any findings from audits.
  • Develop, implement, and sustain internal controls and compliance policies to protect the financial integrity of the organization.
  • Monitor financial transactions and processes to detect potential compliance issues, discrepancies, or risk areas; prepare detailed reports on compliance status and findings.
  • Conduct risk assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of current controls and identify opportunities for enhancing compliance practices.
  • Provide training and guidance to finance and accounting teams regarding compliance requirements, internal controls, and best practices.
  • Investigate any compliance breaches or irregularities, collaborating with relevant departments to resolve issues and implement corrective measures.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of compliance activities, policies, procedures, and audit outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with legal, finance, and operations teams to ensure a unified approach to compliance issues and the execution of corrective actions.
  • Stay informed about changes in financial regulations, industry standards, and best practices, recommending necessary updates to policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial compliance, auditing, or a related field.
  • Strong comprehension of financial regulations, internal controls, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, GAAP, IFRS).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for assessing risks and formulating effective compliance strategies.
  • High attention to detail and precision in reviewing financial documents and ensuring compliance.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capacity to effectively articulate compliance requirements and findings to various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial management systems and compliance software; experience with audit tools is advantageous.
  • Strong ethical standards and a commitment to upholding the integrity of financial operations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic environment, ensuring timely completion and adherence to deadlines.
