We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Manager - Intake to join our team at the Housing Authority of the City of Austin. As a key member of our Assisted Housing Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal regulations and program requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs for housing professionals on practices, policies, and procedures related to the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program and other related programs.
- Customer Service: Respond to questions and concerns from HCV participants, property owners, housing eligibility specialists, and compliance specialists, providing education and support as needed.
- Policy Development: Develop, draft, revise, and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with HUD regulations and program requirements.
- Compliance Monitoring: Monitor and report on compliance with HCV program requirements, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Supervision and Performance Management: Supervise housing professionals, complete performance evaluations, and assist with interviewing applicants and providing recommendations for new hires.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date on HUD notices and program requirements, attending training courses and implementing changes as needed.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in social science or business from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong computer skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to provide compassionate and professional customer service, and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Preferred Qualifications: Section 8 Project-based Voucher Certification, Housing Choice Voucher Rent Calculation Certification, or HCV Rent Calculation Certification, Spanish language proficiency, and knowledge of HUD programs and regulatory compliance.
