Role Overview
In alignment with our mission to enhance the lives of our Residents, the RN Unit Supervisor is accountable for the overall nursing care and services during their shift. This includes the precise and timely administration of medications, treatments, and documentation. The RN Unit Supervisor will oversee nursing staff and ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all Residents under their care by adhering to relevant laws, regulations, and established nursing policies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver high-quality nursing care to Residents in a manner that respects their rights, dignity, and choices.

2. Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A.s) and other staff, ensuring all tasks are completed satisfactorily.

3. Oversee direct patient care and nursing personnel during the shift.

4. Conduct and receive shift reports.

5. Perform regular rounds to ensure safe and clean care environments.

6. Keep families and physicians informed of any changes in residents' conditions.

7. Assist in creating comprehensive care plans.

8. Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with nursing policies while ensuring confidentiality.

9. Uphold infection control and safety protocols during care delivery.

10. Ensure the comfort, privacy, and dignity of Residents, interacting with them in a warm and respectful manner.

11. Respond promptly and courteously to call lights.

12. Assist with admissions, re-admissions, and transfers of Residents within the facility.

13. Communicate effectively with Residents, families, peers, and supervisors.

14. Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions as required.

Supervisory Duties
This role includes direct supervisory responsibilities for Certified Nurse Aides and other assigned personnel.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN state licensure.
  • C.P.R. certification.

Preferred Qualifications

· Minimum one year of nursing experience in a long-term care environment.
