Position Summary:
In alignment with our mission to enhance the lives of our Residents, the RN Unit Supervisor is accountable for the overall nursing care and services during their shift. This includes the precise and timely administration of medications, treatments, and documentation. The RN Unit Supervisor will oversee nursing staff and ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all Residents under their care by adhering to relevant laws, regulations, and established nursing policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to Residents in a manner that upholds their rights, dignity, and freedom of choice.
- Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A.s) and other staff, ensuring that tasks are completed satisfactorily.
- Oversee direct care provided to residents and nursing personnel during the shift.
- Facilitate and receive shift reports effectively.
- Conduct multiple rounds throughout the unit to ensure safe and clean care environments.
- Keep physicians and families informed of any changes in residents' conditions.
- Assist in formulating comprehensive care plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records documenting care and other relevant information while ensuring confidentiality.
- Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols during care delivery.
- Uphold the comfort, privacy, and dignity of Residents while fostering a warm and respectful environment.
- Respond promptly and courteously to call lights.
- Assist with new admissions, re-admissions, and transfers of Residents within the facility.
- Communicate effectively with Residents, families, peers, and supervisors.
- Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions as required.
Supervisory Duties:
This role includes direct supervisory responsibilities for Certified Nurse Aides and other assigned personnel.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Current State License as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- C.P.R. Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
One year of nursing experience in a long-term care environment is preferred.
