POSITION SUMMARY:
The Medicaid Program Supervisor is accountable for overseeing the daily operations of teams responsible for processing applications, conducting eligibility reviews, and managing changes within Adult and Family Medicaid programs.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
A comprehensive understanding of public assistance policies and eligibility criteria for Food and Nutrition Services, Medicaid, and/or Work First Cash Assistance is crucial. The ability to effectively instruct, lead, and manage employees performing eligibility tasks while fostering positive relationships with applicants and stakeholders is necessary. Strong representation of the eligibility program in departmental meetings and community forums is expected. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree coupled with three years of experience in eligibility work or administrative roles within Social Services is required. Alternatively, a high school diploma with six years of experience in determining eligibility for Social Services programs, including at least one year in a supervisory role, is acceptable.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Experience with various public assistance programs, familiarity with NC FAST, and bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish are highly desirable.
