Position Overview:
In alignment with our mission to enhance the lives of our Residents, the Nurse Supervisor is accountable for the overall nursing care provided during their shift. This includes the precise and timely administration of medications, treatments, and thorough documentation. The Nurse Supervisor will oversee nursing staff, ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all Residents under their care by adhering to relevant laws, regulations, and established nursing protocols.
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care in a manner that respects residents' rights, dignity, and autonomy.
- Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A's) and other staff, verifying that all assignments are completed satisfactorily.
- Oversee direct resident care and nursing personnel during the shift.
- Facilitate effective communication through shift reports.
- Conduct multiple rounds throughout the unit to ensure proper care is delivered in a safe and sanitary environment.
- Keep physicians and families informed of any changes in residents' conditions.
- Assist in formulating comprehensive care plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with nursing policies while ensuring confidentiality.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety measures during care delivery.
- Uphold the comfort, privacy, and dignity of residents, interacting with them in a warm and respectful manner.
- Respond promptly and courteously to call lights.
- Assist with the admission and transfer processes of residents within the facility.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, peers, and supervisors.
- Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions as required.
Supervisory Duties:
This role includes direct supervisory responsibilities for Certified Nurse Aides and other assigned personnel.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Current State RN License.
- C.P.R. Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a nurse in a long-term care environment is advantageous.
