The Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships - Department of Defense (DOD) - Missions & Programs - Business Development/Capture role is tasked with spearheading the business development and capture strategies pertinent to Cayuse's federal government practice, primarily targeting **Department of Defense missions and programs in the Pacific Region**. This involves crafting sales strategies aligned with organizational goals to foster profitable growth and enhance customer satisfaction. Additionally, the role requires interpreting client needs and translating them into innovative solutions that fulfill their mission objectives. Responsibilities

+ Cultivate existing relationships and forge new connections within the DoD mission and programs landscape to identify and qualify business opportunities, conducting thorough research and analysis of capture options.

+ Design and implement effective capture strategies, developing plans and techniques that persuade potential clients to engage with the organization.

+ Establish trustworthy relationships with clients by offering support, information, and guidance, while researching and recommending solutions to their challenges and opportunities.

+ Collaborate closely with Contracting Officers to devise executable delivery strategies and equitable contractual outcomes based on mutual interests.

+ Identify and qualify potential partners and business relationships that lead to the creation of winning proposals and successful project delivery.

+ Comprehend and translate buyer requirements into mission-relevant solutions.

+ Manage all client interactions throughout the sales and capture cycle.

+ Assist or lead in preparing project estimates, schedules, work plans, and resource/sourcing plans, ensuring a clear understanding of the inputs required for accurate cost estimates.

+ Align solution architecture (including statements of work, schedules, and other contractual documents) with final terms and conditions.

+ Actively participate in Bid/No Bid discussions, proposal strategies, drafting proposal content, and conducting quality reviews of proposals.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.

+ At least 8 years of proven experience in government capture, business development, and marketing within Department of Defense (DoD) environments, unified commands, or programs.

+ In-depth knowledge of C6ISR, including components such as command and control, communications, cyber defense, combat systems, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, along with emerging technologies like AI and ML; veteran status is a plus.

+ Current or former security clearance, with the ability to obtain necessary clearance being advantageous.

+ Advanced skills in sales/capture and marketing, with a demonstrated history of successfully marketing or selling services and products to government buyers while effectively communicating past performance and capabilities that distinguish Cayuse from other small businesses.

+ Experience in an SBA Tribal 8(a) business environment, understanding the benefits to clients of the program and its participants.

+ Working knowledge of the FAR and other government regulations.

+ Understanding of federal business practices, including costing, pricing, and profit margins, as well as contractual obligations and risks.

+ Proficient in federal market dynamics, particularly regarding trending solutions and technologies and their corresponding price points.

+ Familiarity with federal contracting approaches and vehicles, including IDIQs, CTAs, and Category Management.

+ Established relationships with potential clients and teaming partners, enabling immediate contributions.

+ Experience with DCAA compliant accounting systems; Deltek CostPoint is a plus.

+ Proficient in utilizing government and commercial opportunity mining resources, such as GovWin, Bloomberg, and SAM.

+ Working knowledge of Shipley processes for business development and proposal management.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint/OneNote, etc.

+ Must be able to pass a background check and may require additional checks as mandated by projects and/or clients during employment.

+ Proven capability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner.

+ Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and within a multi-functional team.

+ Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

+ Proficient in common database and reporting tools.

Reports to: Managing Director, Business Development & Capture, or other as appropriate.

Working Conditions:

+ Professional remote office environment.

+ Must be physically and mentally capable of performing duties for extended periods. Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools efficiently.

+ Must establish a productive and professional workspace.

+ Flexibility to work varying schedules and/or extended hours to meet business needs and project deadlines.

+ May require travel for business or professional development purposes.
