Position Summary:
The Teller Associate plays a crucial role in providing outstanding service to our members by accurately processing and recording various transactions. This includes cashing checks, accepting deposits and withdrawals, and facilitating loan payments and money transfers. The Teller Associate is also responsible for managing new membership applications and updating existing member accounts while promoting the Credit Union's diverse range of products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to Bank Secrecy Act regulations and internal policies.
  • Process transactions promptly and accurately, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in member records.
  • Handle cash transactions, including deposits and withdrawals, while verifying for counterfeit currency.
  • Assist members with various services, such as ordering checks and issuing ATM/Debit cards.
  • Manage holds on accounts in accordance with Credit Union policies.
  • Process loan and VISA payments, as well as night and mail deposits.
  • Ensure ATM machines are secure and properly settled.
  • Resolve member account issues and provide assistance as needed.
  • Balance cash drawer and prepare daily totals.
  • Support branch operations by following opening and closing procedures.
  • Educate members about Credit Union products and services, making referrals as necessary.
  • Provide notary services if licensed.
  • Encourage members to utilize digital channels for banking services.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following:

  • Completion of mandatory compliance training.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of credit union products and services.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Effective problem-solving and reasoning skills.
  • Solid mathematical skills for accurate transaction processing.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on collaboration.
  • Leadership qualities to guide and assist fellow Tellers.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Punctuality and reliability in attendance.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; two years of Teller or customer service experience preferred.
  • Availability to work on weekends as required.
