Position Overview

Summary:

The role involves coordinating and supporting initiatives aimed at attracting new business to First Financial, as well as assisting in the execution of programs designed to enhance our engagement with current business partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to Bank Secrecy Act regulations.
  • Identify and recruit new business accounts and potential business loan partnerships.
  • Collaborate with management to strategize, develop, and oversee the credit union's Business Development plan.
  • Partner with Branch Managers and staff to support new Business Development efforts.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and monitor financial service competitors.
  • Address and resolve inquiries, complaints, or issues from business members and community partners.
  • Maintain and nurture existing business relationships.
  • Ensure compliance in processing business account documentation.
  • Facilitate the opening of new member and business accounts.
  • Assist the Lending Department with business and consumer loan applications, and collaborate with CBS (Cooperative Business Services) for business loans.
  • Conduct research to identify potential community partners.
  • Propose new community partnerships.
  • Maintain updated contact lists for new and prospective community partners.
  • Manage the community partner database.
  • Support efforts to deepen engagement with existing community partners.
  • Prepare monthly reports detailing activities and outcomes.
  • Act as a liaison to branches for coordinating credit union events and Ambassador visits.
  • Engage with community partners to establish direct deposit and ACH payroll deduction programs, explaining their benefits.
  • Provide updates and report challenges to management.
  • Participate in civic and business meetings within the community.
  • Recommend and support marketing initiatives.
  • Serve as the liaison for Fiserv Merchant Services, collaborating with branches to refer business accounts through the merchant services portal.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of all regulatory compliance training (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, etc.) and product & service education.
  • Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Sales-driven, with a focus on building business through advocacy for the credit union and attracting new partnerships/members.
  • Proficient in common software applications, including MS Office and Outlook.
  • Confident and articulate in communication.
  • Possess strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills.
  • Well-organized and self-motivated.
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities.
  • Team-oriented, contributing positively to team dynamics.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in tasks.
  • Able to deliver professional presentations to diverse audiences.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in retail business operations is essential.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a finance-related customer service role.
  • Experience in business communication is advantageous.
  • Background in a banking environment is beneficial.
