The Wasserstrom Company stands as a premier Food Service Distributor in the nation, with a rich history dating back to 1902. As a family-owned enterprise located in Columbus, Ohio, we are currently seeking to fill the role of an Account Manager within our Hospitality Division.

This position entails overseeing sales operations, from generating leads to finalizing agreements, specifically in the Northern Texas region for our growing clientele. The Account Manager will implement a structured sales strategy that aligns with The Wasserstrom Company's goals of enhancing our footprint in the target markets of our customers. Close collaboration with sales and support teams is crucial to ensure client satisfaction and drive revenue growth, in accordance with the company's vision and core values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as a key point of contact between store-level, regional, and national buyers in a competitive landscape.
  • Exhibiting the ability to understand and propose a customized distribution plan that meets the customer's goals.
  • Possessing extensive product knowledge and the ability to research non-food service related items (e.g., décor, merchandising, marketing, and signage materials).
  • Demonstrating a commitment to understanding and adapting to the customer's organizational culture.
  • Managing a diverse range of over 5000 different SKUs across multiple regions and departments, while comprehending lead times and inventory requirements.
  • Being responsive to daily customer needs and capable of managing physically demanding check-ins.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated success in sales.
  • Familiarity with the principles and techniques of demonstrating, promoting, and selling products or services, including marketing strategies, product presentations, sales methodologies, and control systems.
  • Understanding of customer service principles and processes, including assessing customer needs, maintaining service quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction levels.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; intermediate to advanced Excel skills are essential.
  • Desirable knowledge and experience in the Hospitality sector.
