Chief Operations Executive

Position Overview

The Chief Operations Executive plays a pivotal role within the Orion Group, overseeing and directing the administrative and logistical dimensions of all operational activities. This leadership position is essential for ensuring the delivery of superior quality across all operations and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and management support to both operations and sales divisions.
  • Ensure that all departments achieve their annual sales and profit objectives.
  • Establish strategic goals aimed at enhancing departmental performance and efficiency, aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Oversee recruitment and training initiatives to fulfill departmental requirements.
  • Develop and nurture highly motivated and effective teams.
  • Collaborate with company executives to formulate and execute operational plans, budgets, and business strategies.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for managerial staff.
  • Prepare comprehensive business plans, budgets, and schedules, including assessments of current project pipelines.
  • Continuously analyze departmental operations to identify areas for improvement and provide necessary resources to managers.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal standards while exceeding customer expectations.
  • Address conflicts within teams and provide effective solutions.
  • Engage actively in identifying potential new business opportunities or markets.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor daily operational systems and processes to enhance visibility into key initiatives.
  • Plan, monitor, and analyze critical metrics for daily operations to ensure timely task completion.
  • Devise strategies for company-wide program growth and implement process improvements to optimize output and reduce costs.
  • Set strategic objectives for operational efficiency and productivity enhancement.
  • Evaluate current operational processes and performance, recommending necessary improvements.
  • Analyze contractual agreements to identify potential risks.
  • Provide leadership and management support while ensuring adherence to operations-related policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in the construction sector, preferably in mechanical operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a track record of successful project execution.
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on successful project outcomes.
  • Familiarity with essential industry-related tools and equipment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Understanding of the construction and service-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient in various computer operating systems and software applications.
  • Ability to generate insightful reports detailing project specifics.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a commitment to efficient project management.
  • Experience in cost control, project estimating, and financial forecasting.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions and occupational hazards in a construction setting.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
