Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Stock Handler to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. As a Stock Handler, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing equipment, materials, and other supplies. You will also be responsible for maintaining stock records and preparing reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement efficient stock delivery schedules for daily deliveries.
  • Conduct weekly inventory cycle counts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Inspect issue forms for proper format and correct errors to ensure accuracy.
  • Operate and inspect warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and delivery vans.
  • Receive and process materials from vendors, including checking for defects and processing returns.
  • Research discrepancies in received materials and notify shop personnel of deliveries ready for pickup.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including stock levels and inventory movements.
Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • 6 months of experience in stock handling and record-keeping.
  • Forklift certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in receiving, storing, issuing, and accounting for property in a warehouse or stockroom environment.
  • Completion of bookkeeping or accounting courses.
Working Conditions
  • Uniforms and personal protective equipment may be required.
  • May work in all weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
  • May work in warehouse and office environments.
  • May be required to lift and move heavy objects.
