Position Overview:

The Inventory Control Technician plays a crucial role in managing the flow of equipment within our yard operations. This position entails the responsibility of receiving, inspecting, and verifying machinery while ensuring accurate inventory counts and efficient equipment handling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exemplifies and encourages adherence to HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) principles to align with our corporate Vision, Values, and Mission.
  • Ensures accurate documentation and verification of all equipment entering and exiting the yard.
  • Handles loading and unloading of machinery and attachments, conducting thorough inspections and reporting on their condition.
  • Communicates daily updates regarding inventory movements through the Shipping and Receiving process.
  • Maintains equipment fuel levels as necessary and accurately records consumption.
  • Conducts random cycle counts of parts on a daily basis.
  • Performs weekly physical inventory counts of both new and used machines, including associated parts and customer equipment.
  • Executes semi-annual physical inventory counts of parts.
  • Demonstrates consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Adheres to safety protocols and company policies at all times.
  • Completes additional tasks as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in safely operating forklifts with a capacity of up to 32,500 lbs.
  • Experience in operating overhead cranes.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to conduct quality control analyses and inspections.
  • Competence in managing equipment operations and controls.
  • Knowledge of selecting appropriate tools and equipment for tasks.
  • Ability to make precise adjustments to machinery controls.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical repair equipment.
  • Strong manual dexterity and coordination.
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Capability to comprehend written information and instructions.
  • Ability to listen and understand spoken information effectively.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • One or more years of relevant experience is advantageous.
  • Forklift operation certification is required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position does not include supervisory duties.

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal travel (up to 10%) may be required.
  • A valid Driver's License is necessary.

Physical Demands:

  • This role involves prolonged periods of standing and frequent movement within maintenance areas.
  • Must be capable of lifting and moving objects, utilizing core muscles for support.
  • Regularly handles materials or equipment weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and physical stamina.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work safely beneath equipment.
  • Must respond to visual and auditory signals, including alarms and instructions.

Work Environment:

  • Regular outdoor work around heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat and cold.
  • Noise levels may be elevated at times.
  • Occasional exposure to chemicals and high-pressure equipment.
