Join HOLT CAT as an Inventory Control Technician
Position Overview:
The Inventory Control Technician plays a crucial role in managing the flow of equipment within our operational yard. This position entails receiving, inspecting, and verifying machinery, while also conducting regular inventory assessments and operating various equipment types.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and uphold HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) principles to align with our organizational Vision, Values, and Mission.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all equipment entering and exiting the yard.
- Handle loading and unloading of machinery and attachments, including conducting inspections and reporting on their condition.
- Provide timely notifications regarding inventory movements through the Shipping and Receiving process.
- Maintain equipment fuel levels and document usage accurately.
- Conduct daily random cycle counts of parts.
- Perform weekly physical inventory counts of both new and used machines, along with associated parts.
- Execute semi-annual physical inventory counts of parts.
- Exhibit regular and punctual attendance.
- Adhere to safety protocols and comply with all company policies and standards.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in operating forklifts with a capacity of up to 32,500 lbs.
- Ability to operate overhead cranes safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and multitask.
- Quality control analysis capabilities, including conducting inspections to evaluate product quality.
- Operational control skills for managing equipment and systems.
- Ability to select appropriate tools and equipment for various tasks.
- Quick and precise adjustment of machine controls.
- Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and mechanical repair equipment.
- Strong dexterity and coordination for handling small objects.
- Capability to prepare reports and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to comprehend written information and follow verbal instructions.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- One or more years of relevant experience is advantageous.
- Forklift operation certification is required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position does not include supervisory duties.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel up to 10% may be necessary.
- A valid Driver's License is required.
Physical Demands:
- This role involves prolonged periods of standing and moving within maintenance areas.
- Must be capable of lifting and moving objects, utilizing abdominal and lower back muscles without fatigue.
- Regularly handle materials or equipment weighing up to 30 lbs.
- Requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina for continuous movement.
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders safely.
- Must be able to work safely under machinery.
- Respond to visual and auditory signals, including alarms and instructions.
Work Environment:
- Regular outdoor work around heavy machinery and equipment.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat and cold.
- Potential for high noise levels.
- Occasional exposure to chemicals and high-pressure equipment.
