Position Overview
The role of a Dealer Account Manager is both challenging and dynamic, offering significant opportunities for career advancement. In this position, you will be responsible for educating and training our existing dealer partners in your designated area while also seeking out new sources and contacts. You will oversee and consult on all sales activities and account development for the dealers assigned to you, ensuring the quality and consistency of product and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Present and promote company products and services to all management levels within the dealership.
- Develop action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and project the number of contacts made.
- Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activities in both independent and franchise dealerships.
- Identify sales prospects and engage with assigned accounts.
- Prepare presentations and proposals for dealership management.
- Assist in the preparation of sales contracts by guiding dealers on the necessary verification requirements.
- Build and maintain relationships with current and potential clients within the independent and franchise dealer communities.
- Stay updated on sales materials and current financial product knowledge.
- Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing initiatives for independent and franchise dealers.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong persuasive and influencing skills.
- Effective presentation skills from initial creation to delivery.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Familiarity with advertising and sales promotion techniques.
- Willingness to travel locally to meet current and potential clients, requiring a valid state driver's license.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university is preferred.
- Experience in automotive, finance, and sales is required.
- Previous outside sales experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.
- Knowledge of web applications is required.
- Familiarity with DealerTrack, RouteOne, or CUDL is beneficial.
