About the Role

Molex, a leading provider of optical communication solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Director of Optical Engineering to join our team. As a key member of our Optical Solutions Group, you will play a critical role in driving innovation and growth in the optical industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Management: Lead program management efforts, collaborating closely with engineering and product management teams to align with existing programs and product roadmaps.
  • Component Qualification: Drive component qualification cycles through direct interaction with vendors' engineering, quality, PLM, and sales and marketing teams.
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships, aligning product roadmaps between Molex and vendors to ensure seamless collaboration and mutual growth.
  • Supply Chain Management: Ensure guaranteed continuity of supply for NPI, scaling, and volume-manufacture of complex optical products, conducting periodic supply risk assessments for supported product lines.
  • Market Intelligence: Collect and analyze optical components supply chain market information to inform strategic decisions.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of combined professional work experience in optical engineering, technical marketing, engineering sourcing, product line management, or related fields.
  • Skills: In-depth knowledge of active optical components, high-speed optical transceivers, and contract manufacturing in the optical and semiconductor industry.
